MOTO OF NSS  —-“NOT ME BUT YOU“

Acharya College Of Engineering committed serving to community through National Service Scheme (NSS). NSS was launched during 1969, the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi, in 37 universities involving 40000 students. NSS is an extension dimension to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in educational institutions. It is being implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

Aims and Objectives Of NSS
  • To work with among people
  • To develop awareness and knowledge of social realities.
  • To have a concern for the wellbeing of the community particularly of the weaker sections.
  • Create awareness on COVID-19 and encourage not to spread.
  • Help community who impacted due to CORONA.
  • To engage themselves in creative and constructive social work.
  • To put their scholarship to particular use in mitigating at least some social problems and promoting welfare.
  • To gain skills in the exercise of democratic leadership.
  • To gain skills in the programmes of development for self involvement during leisure and vacation period of national development for the welfare of communities.
  • To enrich personality.

Plantation:

In our college under NSS programme we plant many trees. For each student one plant we made them to be done. We planted it with our own expenditure. Under our self funding and encouragement of management we planted several plants in the campus as well as in the surrounding 5 villages. As well as our NSS coordinator Sri. N.V.Subbareddy coordinate the students to monitor plants growth. The main aim of this programmed to develop greenery campus and greenery environment. The flavor of this programmed is to control pollution around the campus. Especially our chairman sir encouraging this program each and every quarterly of the year in our campus at the same time surrounding villages. Our NSS program main inspiration is our honorable Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi programme “Swatch Bharath – Clean and Green India”.   

Support during COVID-19:

 

Support poor during COVID-19, helped many families during COVID by supplying needful food to the impacted families. Our Management is kind enough to allocate funds for this activity. Students and NSS Staff involved in distribution supplies to the needful families. Lot of families expressed their happiness for doing such a great help to the community. Local MLA expressed thanks for this gesture done by NSS Unit Of Acharya College Of Engineering.

National Handloom Day

In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared August 7 as National Handloom Day. National Handloom day celebrated on August 7th 2021 by the college. Students and Staff participated in the event. Conducted a debate on current situation and challenges facing by handloom industry.  Speakers explained about the importance of using handloom cloths and other hand made products.
